Why it is £299 and not a monthly fee
£299 sounds too cheap for a website, and being suspicious of that is fair. Here is the arithmetic.
- It is one person. No agency, no office, no account manager, no salesman taking a cut.
- The page layout is already built and already running on other trade sites. I am fitting your business into it, not inventing one from scratch.
- Your site is about a day of my time. A studio charges you for three weeks because it takes them three weeks.
- Hosting one page costs pennies, so there is nothing I need to bill you monthly to cover.
A monthly builder charges a small amount forever because forever is where their money is. I would rather take £299 once and be done with it.

Do not buy this if
You need customers to book and pay online, you want a shop, you have more than about ten pages of content, or you want somebody managing your marketing every month. I do none of those. Ring me and I will say so, rather than sell you the wrong thing.
How it works
- You send three things. Your email address, your business name and town, and a link to your Facebook page, Google listing or existing website. That link is what makes the preview your actual business rather than a template with your name on it.
- I build the preview, free. I look up your business, build a real working page and email you the link, usually inside 24 hours. You have paid nothing and given me no card.
- You decide. Want it live? £299 once and I put it on your domain, or a free subdomain if you have not got one. Do not want it? Say so, or say nothing. It costs you nothing either way.

This is the standard, not a mock-up. Same layout, your business in it.

What I cannot show you
I have no testimonials page, no star rating and no client count badge. I would have to invent all three, and you would be right not to believe them.
What I can offer instead is the only proof that costs me something: I build your site, with your name on it, before you give me a penny. Nobody runs a scam by doing the work first.
What happens if I stop trading
Fair thing to ask a one man business. I would rather you asked now than worried about it later.
- Your domain is registered in your name, not mine. You keep it whatever happens to me.
- Ask me for a copy of your site files at any time and I send them. You do not need a reason.
- If I ever wind up, I send every client their files without being asked.
- It is a static one page site. Any web host or any developer can put it back online, usually inside an hour, for a few pounds a month.
Being locked in is what happens with a monthly builder. Here there is nothing to be locked into: no account, no subscription, no card on file.

How much does a trade website cost?
£299, once. That covers a clean one page website, hosting, a free subdomain like yourbusiness.tradewebsite.uk, and putting it live for you. There is no monthly fee and I do not keep a card on file. You only pay again if you ask me for changes later.
Why is it only £299?
Because it is one person with no office, no account manager and no sales team, using a page layout I have already built and already know works. Your site is a day of my time, not three weeks of a studio's. That is the whole reason the number is £299 once and not a fee every month.
Can I see it before I pay?
Yes. Send me your email address and a link to your Facebook page, Google listing or existing website, and I build a free preview of your website and email you the link within 24 hours, with no payment up front and no card taken. You only pay the £299 once you have seen it and want it live.
Are there any monthly fees?
No. You pay £299 once and I never bill you again. Hosting and a free subdomain are included in that £299. If you buy your own domain name, I connect it for you free of charge.
What is not included in the £299?
No online booking, no card payments, no shop, no logo design, no photography, no ongoing SEO or advertising, and no monthly support plan. It is one page that says what you do, where you work and how to reach you. If you need more than that, I am the wrong person and I will tell you so.
Do I own my website and domain?
Yes. The website is yours to keep, and any domain you buy is registered in your name, not mine. That is the big difference from monthly website builders, where the company owns your domain and your site goes offline the moment you stop paying.
What happens if you stop trading?
Your domain is in your name and the website files are yours. If I vanished tomorrow you could hand the site to any other web person and they could put it back online somewhere else. Nothing about it is locked to me.
Do I need my own domain name?
No, but it is worth having. Your own domain like yourbusiness.co.uk costs a few pounds a year and I connect it free of charge. If you do not have one, you can go live on a free subdomain at no extra cost and add your own domain whenever you want.
How long does it take to build my website?
Your free preview is ready within 24 hours of you sending your details. Once you have seen it and told me to go ahead, I put it live for you.
What do I need to send you?
Three things: your email address, your business name and town, and a link to your Facebook page, your Google listing or an existing website. That link does most of the work, because it is where I get your services, your photos, your areas and your reviews. The preview gets better if you also tell me a link to anything you already have online such as a Google Business Profile, Checkatrade or Facebook. Photos of your own jobs help too.
